On Thursday, 12-24-09 at 6:30 PM ET, the Japan  Statistics Bureau will release the monthly JPY Tokyo Core Consumer Price Index and JPY National Core Consumer Price Index YoY reports

There are 2 additional reports this time.

The additional reports are:

JPY Jobless Rate
JPY Household Spending (YoY)

Here is what happened on Thursday:

JPY Tokyo Core Consumer Price Index YoY – Stats

Previous = -1.9%

Forecast = -1.8%

Actual = -1.9%
Bad – the “actual” came out lower “forecast“ by 0.1%.
Neutral – the “actual” came out same as “previous“.

JPY National Core Consumer Price Index YoY – Stats

Previous = -2.2%

Forecast = -1.7%

Actual = -1.7%
Neutral – the “actual” came out same as “forecast“.
Good – the “actual” came out higher “previous“ by 0.5%.

Since it was Christmas Eve, I did not record the charts – there was not much to record anyway!

But, I did set up to trade the GBP/JPY currency pair.

The next scheduled release of these two reports on Thursday, 01-28-09 at 6:30 PM ET, at this point in time there may be additional reports released at the same time.
