The US ISM Non-Manufacturing Composite (ISM = Institute for Supply Management) is a survey of about 400 Purchasing Managers who are asked for their opinion concerning 4 of the following indicators:
- Business Activity
- New Orders
- Employment
- Supplier Deliveries
The purchasing managers of a Company have a real good idea of how the economy may be going in the future based upon the demands made on their Companies business activity.
The results of the survey are analyzed by the leading economist, the consensus puts forth a prediction which is then published.
It is this prediction that most FOREX traders look to in planning their trades.
